The Asia Behaviour & Child Nutrition Lab (ABC Lab) was founded on a simple but powerful belief — that every child deserves the best start in life, and that this begins with informed, compassionate, and evidence-based parenting.
The idea first took root from Dr. Anh Nguyen’s vision, a Harvard-trained Clinical Scholar, who sought to connect his colleagues from Harvard and leading global institutions — clinicians and scientists dedicated to child health, behaviour, and nutrition — to create a platform that bridges research and real-world impact.
Growing up in Vietnam and later training and working across the UK and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Nguyen witnessed how culture, nutrition, and parental behaviour intertwine to shape a child’s lifelong health and cognitive potential. Yet, much of the existing research has been developed in Western contexts, often overlooking the unique realities of Asian families.
ABC Lab was born from a deep commitment to close that gap — to bring rigorous science closer to the daily lives of parents across Asia. Today, it has evolved into a global network of Harvard Scholars and international collaborators working together to translate evidence into practical, culturally sensitive strategies that empower families, strengthen early brain development, and promote lifelong well-being.
At the heart of everything we do lies one belief: nurturing healthy behaviours early can change the trajectory of a child’s entire life.
